Adela E. Ekman
Chief Operating Officer and Chairman of the Board
Adela Ekman was named Chief Operating Officer and Chairman of the Board in February of 2011 for About The Kids Foundation. At 84 years of age, Adela is also the youngest oldest active woman COO and Senior Board Member in the United States for a nonprofits 501 c3 organization.
She was married to Einar aka “The Duke” Ekman Jr. for 49 years when he passed away in 1997. Adela Ekman is the mother of the Founder Joseph A. Ekman and the Grandmother of both Elizabeth Sarah Ekman aka “Boo” and Emily Rose Ekman aka “Em”.
She joined About The Kids Foundation in January 2003 as a Member of the Board of Directors. Prior to joining About The Kids Foundation, Adela Ekman retired in 1986 after 25 successful years with Hewlett Packard Corporation, Palo Alto, California, where she was responsible for Quality Control and Process Auditing for the Data Systems Division. She was also responsible for Supplier and Vendor Relations for the Outsourcing management program for Hewlett Packard Corporation as well as Interpreter for American Sign Language for Hewlett Packard Corporation.
Adela has been very active during her retirement from Hewlett Packard Corporation. She has enjoyed traveling, golf and playing bridge with her close friends. Adela Ekman also enjoys her lifelong passion of painting and drawing.

Peter Passantino, CPA
Senior Board Member and CFO
Peter J. Passantino is currently a Board Member and Chief Financial Officer for About The Kids Foundation. A father of one son, Passantino brings more than 26 years experience as a CPA with varying types of business enterprises. Passantino is also the co-founder of findthezone.com, the Chief Financial Officer of Sports Immersion Technology group Inc., and the General Partner of his own tax and accounting practice in Dublin, California.
Peter is a California Certified Public Accountant and holds a master’s degree in taxation from Golden Gate University in San Francisco, California, and a Bachelor’s in Science in Accounting from CSU, Chico State University, Chico, California.
Rene F. Bernier

Rene F. Bernier is an Senior Advisory Board Member with About The Kids Foundation. A father of two children, Bernier brings more than 21 years of Information Technology experience. He is currently an OEM Account Manager at Microsoft Corporation in Chicago, Illinois, where he works with leading manufactures to create innovative devices built on Microsoft technology, specifically in the areas of mobile computing, industrial automation and consumer internet connected devices. Prior to joining Microsoft Corporation, Bernier was a Client Manager with IBM Corporation, in Chicago, Illinois, where he worked with retailers to solve a variety of complex business issues in the areas of Store Systems, Business Intelligence, and Enterprise Resource Planning.

Joslyn Stabile is a vivacious actor, model and athlete from Massachusetts. Currently a resident of Los Angeles, Joslyn was raised in Chelmsford, MA and is the daughter of Gerald Stabile Jr. & Kathie Stabile and is one of 4 girls. Joslyn’s father Jerry played D1 Football at Boston College and Joslyn played D1 Lacrosse for Quinnipiac University, Connecticut and has an extensive athletic background. She is capable of performing her own stunts and has boxing training with Dicky Eklund. At Quinnipiac Joslyn held a double major in Film/TV and Theatre and was a founding sister of PI BETA PHI Connecticut Gamma Sorority.
Her first film role was opposite names such as Ray Liota, Forest Whitaker and Nikki Reed in PAWN which was released last Spring. Joslyn can also be seen as Rachel in the flick THE SADIST which recently circulated the horror film festivals market. Joslyn’s has gained on set television experience assisting Michael Chiklis on the CBS drama VEGAS co-starring Dennis Quaid. Joslyn has 5 years of theater training, is currently studying in Los Angeles at the prestigious Carter-Thor Acting School and has been coached by the esteemed Howard Fine and Anthony Meindl of LA. Joslyn was the spotlighted model for Reebok and Dick’s Sporting Goods, California Almonds and Diadora Italy print campaigns and has been a semi-finalist in the Miss USA Teen pageant for Massachusetts.
Because of one of Joslyn’s family members struggles and challenges with Aspergers Syndrome especially with the education department, About The Kids Foundation will be creating an informative Web page to help inform families and to bring more of an understanding in the education area.

Joseph Barone is an Advisory Board Member with About The Kids Foundation. A father of two, Barone’s Business experience spans 16 years running Barone Restaurant, Inc., the best Italian Restaurant in Pleasanton, California, where he is currently the President and Owner. Barone open the doors of Barone Restaurant, Inc., in 1995.
Barone received his degree from St. Mary’s College of California, Moraga, California.

Deborah Conrad is corporate vice president and chief marketing officer. Conrad is responsible for Intel Corporation’s brand management, product positioning, product launch management and marketing research, as well as sales and integrated marketing communications, advertising and promotional campaigns designed to reach consumer and business customers worldwide.
Prior to leading the Corporate Marketing Group, Conrad created and directed Team Apple and oversaw all aspects of the Intel and Apple relationship since the beginning of the partnership in 2005 through 2008. She was responsible for all aspects of the Intel and Apple business, including sales and revenue, product engineering, software development support and market development. Before her role with Team Apple, Conrad led the Solutions market Development Group, where she was responsible for worldwide sales development efforts and industry partner programs. She oversaw Intel’s extensive direct relationships with CTO/CIOs, industry-specific business development programs and alliances with enterprise ISVs, solution providers and telco services providers. From 1993 to 1999, she was marketing director for Intel’s Asia-Pacific Region, responsible for building brand equity and marketing development efforts throughout China, India, Taiwan, Korea, Southeast Asia and New Zealand. Conrad joined Intel in 1986 as Microprocessor Group Communications manager, where she managed press relations, marketing communications, product advertising and related strategic communications programs.
From 1990 to 1993, Conrad worked in corporate communications and helped build the worldwide press relations organization, including developing broadcast media, executive speech development and brand programs.
Ann Marie Nelson

Ann Marie Nelson is committed to expanding awareness of mental health, improved living, and strengthening communities by developing seminars, workshops, and public learning opportunities. Ann Marie brings a diverse range of approaches, drawing on the latest mental health research, stress reduction models, relationship research, organizational theory, and nonprofit educational models.
From working with mentally disabled children to teaching phonetics to illiterate 5th graders, Ms. Nelson’s dedication to children and families spans two decades. Ms. Nelson currently provides mental health services to a diverse population of children and families, including low-income and at-risk youth. She is a frequent public speaker, inspiring youth and college students.
Ms. Nelson is honored to be a Co-authoring the second version of The Ekman Co-Parenting Journal, and looks forward to About the Kids Foundation’s increased usability coming in the improved apps and expanded The Ekman Co-Parenting Journal Series being published By JoeParent.com.
Ms. Nelson holds a bachelor’s degree in psychology from University of California, Irvine, where she graduated Cum Laude. She was also inducted as a lifetime member of the prestigious Psi Chi National Honor Society. She holds two Master of Arts degrees: Master of Organizational Psychology, Change Leadership from California School of Professional Psychology, At Alameda, and Master of Psychology, Marriage and Family Therapy from Chapman University. Her blend of business savvy and clinical experience brings practical, effective solutions to the programs that enrich the lives of youth and families.
